NJ Wrestlers Battling it Out!
There are other ways to develop unstoppable conditioning.
Distance running beats up the knees, the hips, the joints and trains you to be slower.
Smarter training is critical, it’s not always about doing more or working harder, it’s SMARTER.
Note the intensity.
We expect nothing less.

Serious Underground Training at CJA Wrestling Club

Last night was the 1st session of 6 at CJA Wrestling Club in North Brunswick, NJ.
This was a special Underground conditioning course I put together for SERIOUS wrestlers and we had 20 dead serious guys ready to kick some butt.
We rocked out endless gymnastics training, all types of partner combative drills and hand wlaking variations.
The not so serious wrestlers left and 20 stayed behind to begin their assault on becoming all state wrestlers.
It’s the little extras you must do to get ahead and I’m psyched to have such a crew of hardcore NJ wrestlers to work with.
Till the next time…
Kill it!

Wrestling Brothers Return to The Underground

JC and Mikey Bandiero kill the rope climbs at The Underground Strength Gym of Edison, NJ.
Strong hands, solid abs, powerful pulling muscles – gotta kill it with the ropes.
The boys are back in town!
Kill it!
–Coach Z–
PS: JC was my very first client, back in the day when I was training him from my Dad’s garage, using stones, playgrounds and that crappy barbell set from good ol’ Costco. Those were some great times. It motivated me to create http://UndergroundStrengthManual.com
PPS: It ain’t easy at The Underground, but the results are well worth it. Call us and start rising to the top and crush your competition.

Where's the support?

Funny how parents are actually putting their children at risk by not doing everything they can to improve their performance.
I ask parents this question to get them to dig deep:
“Have you done everything you possibly could to help your child be prepared as best as possible for his / her sport?”
If the answer is “No”, then you must ask yourself what kind of parent you are.
We had a wrestler go through a trial period here at The Underground Strength Gym of Edison, NJ and he had an insanely tough time going through our modified (wimpified) baseline programs. He threw up constantly and was not even able to be considered in horrible condition, this would be a compliment.
Do I sound rude? Sorry, this is truth speaking, nothing else.
Last year his shoulder was torn during a wrestling match – this can certainly happen in wrestling or other sports, but, being weak and not having strong tissues and muscles only adds to the possibility of you getting injured.
After having a poor performance last year, the Mother decided it is not good for her son to strength train 2 x week.
This is kinda like the baseball player who isn’t into lifting weights.
It says “I am not into winning.”
I feel bad for this kid because he wanted to train Underground, yet his Mom didn’t feel the need to support her son, even after his poor performance last year and a very serious shoulder injury.
Where’s the support, I must ask, where the hell is the support?
Kill it!

It's not the training tools!
Many people think that because we use training tools such as kettlebells, tractor tires, sandbags, etc that THIS is what gives our athletes the edge.
VERY WRONG!
I know people all around the world who do the squat, bench and deadlift, yet there are a select few gyms in the world with guys squatting over 1,000 lbs, benching over 600 lbs and deadlifting over 800 lbs.
What’s the BIG defining factor here? Program design and atmosphere.
The way we organize programs revolves around bringing results in strength, power, speed and conditioning ALL year long, every week of every month.
There are many gyms near me who use tires and kettlebells as well. What’s the difference?
The difference is my understanding of what each athlete needs, how to organize their training program optimally for results in season, off season, pre season and every other week of the year to ensure these athletes peak at the correct time and get results faster than their competition.
If I didn’t have tired, sandbags, stones, etc. – guess what?
I’d still be developing athletes into Gladiators.
Below is a video of 2 wrestlers who didn’t even touch a tire, sandbag or anything else “fancy” – and guess what? They’re strength, power and conditioning is getting freaky and soaring to new levels so fast it’s not even funny!
Tires, kegs, kettlebells – they’re just tools.
Understanding how to put together a program that delivers results every week, every month and all year is what really shows what works or not.
Kill it!

PS: I’ve decided to cap gym membership at 40 clients right now. Nothing less than super serious athletes will be allowed into the program. If time allows and we have our current 40 athletes at a level we want them at, we’ll take a few more.
We’re not like other gyms where you must wait on line or train with a huge group. We want quality, and we want results. Keeping our clientele to a minimum ensures they get our best attention, nothing less.
