Football players, wrestlers, baseball players, basketball players and track athlete swent through some Hellish conditioning at the end of their workouts this week with the prowler suicide challenge.

Check the vid and see for yourself…

The competition was fierce as the athletes battled for pride, bragging right and the rare and coveted Lost Secrets of Strength T Shirt.

Times were close BUT the winners emerged and there can only be 1 winner!

Jonathan Black, an 8th grader entering Bishop Ahr High School prepping for Football and Wrestling shocked EVERYONE and took the Gold during the 5 o’clock wrecking crew, one of the toughest and busiest training groups we EVER had!

The Man on a Mission, Mike Crusco, was super confident and with his work ethic and newly found strength and muscle, who wouldn’t be! The beast from Metuchen Basketball took home the Gold and talked trash the entire time!

The 7 o’clock crew REALLY got a shocker as Baseball player, Rob Pepe of Bishop Ahr shocked EVERYONE and took the Gold with a 38 second Prowler Suicide Sprint! Robert was the ONLY athlete to break the 40 second mark!

These athletes are on a mission to WIN.

Are you on a mission for the Gold?

It’s the only way to go and you need an edge, an advantage, we give it to you.

I’m going to try and take a lil’ trip down to Atlantic City next weekend for some wrestling and, gambling :)

My wife loves Roulette, and of course, some good food :)

After wrestling season ends, our wrestlers take 7 – 14 days off, but, for the few who plan to enter junior and senior nationals, there is no rest as they trian to become the best in the USA.

Kill it!

NJ Wrestlers on Atlantic City Mission

Feb 24

mikevsderekUnderground meets Underground. Two Underground athletes face off in District Finals, Mikey Bandiero defeats Derek DelaCruz during a battle of Undergrounders.

In NJ Wrestling, if you make it to the state tournament you head down to Atlantic City to battle it out with the best.

Anything can happen. State champs get knocked off and first timers bring home Gold – it depends on who is having his best day, who is healthiest, who trained the smartest and who is mentally on his A game.

Lots of Underground Wrestlers moved on to the Region for this weekend. If they place top 3, off to Atlantic City they go.

Congrats goes to the following beasts for winning their district, putting them in good standing to place well or win their region and go to AC baby!

Mikey Bandiero of Edison, 1st place

Christian Barber of Westfield, 1st place

Russell Benner of Roselle Park, 1st Place

Steven Zafrani, 1st Place

Brendan Vercammen, 1st Place

Derek DelaCruz, 2nd Place

CJ Hart, 3rd place

Success is a habit, it doesn’ happen by accident.

Combine the best training with the best atmosphere and you have a winning combination.

Only at The Underground Strength Gym of Edison, NJ

Kill it!

He Used to Get Crushed….

Jim Beshada came to me after his sophomore year as a wrestler and not making it out of his district.

His burning passion to succeed and his commitment to work blew me away.

He had a super tough weight class as a sophomore and never even made it out of his district.

He trained Underground with me in my backyard and garage and NEVER missed a session. During summer vacation Jimmy commuted 2 hours EACH WAY from Long Beach Island to get his workouts in!

Jimmy qualified for states as a junior and then was a state runner up as a senior.

Freshman year in college he qualified for D3 Nationals and won his conference as a Freshman!

Wow, kinda sounds like my mentor, Coach Ethan Reeve! a TRUE Beast :)

Today, Jim is a sophomore, ranked top 5 in the country and looks to be quite the force!

When I watch him wrestle I’m always thankful I’m not the one wrestling him, because I would get crushed! ha ha

Check out a recent match of Jim crushing the competition…

Jim’s little brother, Erik, also trains with us. Training young athletes with the proper methods is critical to giving them the advantage long term. Too many young athletes specialize and in turn end up burning out physically and / or mentally by the time they reach high school!

If you want to experience the success of other athletes such as Jim and Erik, then call or e mail us to schedule your interview for The Underground Strength Gym.

Sometimes, You Gotta Get Crazy

Dec 31

Crazy training doesn’t mean stupid or sloppy.

But, there are times when you REALLY need to push the envelope.

The intensity and volume shoot sky high and you take advantage of these days when your energy is sky high.

In the video below, you’ll see some of our collegiate athletes getting crazy.

They were ready for it.

Some of them have been training with me for YEARS and have been built up to handle this type of intensity.

The smartest thing these athletes ever did was to step up and become a member of The Underground Strength Gym.

Why?

Because it gave them the edge over what their competition is NOT doing.

You come here and you do it right, all the time, every time.

One of our athletes, a wrestler from Edison, NJ, Mike Bandiero, just won his 4th consecutive Warren Hills Wrestling tournament. He dominated his way through the tournament and became Edison High School’s 6th wrestler in history to become a 4 x Warren Hills Champion.

His competition sure as heck isn’t training Underground!

What are you doing to get the edge over your competition?

Do you want to win? How badly?

Do you want to get a college scholarship for athletics?

Do you want to break records?

Then do something about it.

Kill it!

–Coach Z–

PS: Only highly motivated, dead serious athletes are accepted into our program. We are eliminating our FREE trial workouts. Too many tire kickers. What we do works. The track record has been proven for years. Time to walk the talk.
