South Plainfield Wrestlers Have Eye Of The Tiger

Jan 18

These guys make me proud…. Anthony Ashnault & Ray Jaz…..

Monday night, Ray Jaz shows up at 7:30 to train, unannounced…. after a looong weekend of wrestling in Va. and cutting weight from 128 to 113, he was FULL of energy. He trained till 8:30 that night, doing at least 3 x the amount of work as any other wrestler did that day!

THIS is what it takes to become a champion….. other athletes are “too tired”, “too busy”, “too sore”, etc.

Other wrestlers insist on going to a wrestling club on top of the 6 x week practices and matches…. this is the old adage of it use or lose it…. wrestling more In season isn’t the answer, but doing what others do NOT do in season IS the answer….

Then…. last night, Anthony Ashnault rolls up, the night before a BIG match against fellow Undergrounder, Jordan “Buckwheat” Pagano.

Most wrestlers won’t train the night before a match, but some will squeeze that workout in, knowing the small extras lead to BIG wins.

Look at this BIG win Anthony secured in Va. against one of the nation’s best wrestlers, Joey Dance, and, check that final 10 second Throw!!!

I’m proud of the guys who step up and do ALL the small things that lead to BIG victories.

BOTH Ray Jaz and Shawn Orzechowski seem to have been separated at birth. BOTH of these Undergrounders arrived for their workouts wearing 20 lb weight vests and proceeded to go through their entire workout wearing their vests!

Ray Jaz is the freshman 103 lb varsity wrestler for The South Plainfield Wrestling Team. He’s one of our most dedicated athletes and his success as a freshman, varsity wrestler is proof of his efforts!

Shawn Orzechowski is likely the strongest volleyball player in all of NJ. Being the younger brother of one of our longest standing clients, General Chow, he has NO choice!

Below is Shawn’s brother lifting a 260 lb atlas stone during our New Year’s Morning workout!

Over the last week we’ve had 9 new athletes become members of The Underground.

Call today to start your journey towards more wins, more strength, more speed, more stamina and more mental toughness.

NJ Wrestler Undergoes Underground Transformation

Nov 16

RosaAbs-small

Congrats to Anthony Rosamilia who recently took First Place at The Jackson Turkey Bowl Wrestling Tournament!

Anthony actually began training with us when he weighed approximately 90 lbs. Today, he weighs in at a solid 110 lbs. His commitment is second to none as he trains at The Underground 3 days a week in addition to wrestling at Gene Lezark’s CJA Wrestling Club.

Pound for pound, Anthony may very well be our strongest athlete. He can farmer walk the 88 lb Kettlebells, trap bar deadlift 250 lbs for 5 reps and can double front squat the 62 lb kettlebells for 5 reps. Anthony can climb the ropes in our gym 3 times in a row as well. The dude is an Underground BEAST!

Rosa has already won The Underground Athlete of the Month twice since his start here 1 1/2 years ago, perhaps he is gunning for our NEW award, Firebreather of The Month, certainly not an easy feat, our last recipient is # 1 ranked wrestler in the USA, Anthony Ashnault.

Look what Gene Lezark said about Anthony: “Gotta say Anthony has a huge strength advantage over his opponents w/ the help of Zach. He also is very committed at CJA becoming one of our most improved wrestlers of the year. In addition to that, Ant is an honoroll student & a great person. Keep up the good work Ant & great job w/ this 110 lb BEAST, Zach!”

Anthony Ashnault EARNS The Confidence

Nov 3

Anthony Ashnault is only a sophomore and has the confidence of a senior at the top of his game. He EARNED the confidence through working his tail off ever since he was a young wrestler racking up state and national titles.

His parents support him in his training. Anthony wants to be the best wrestler in the country, he understands he must train for this. His Coaches support him in training at The Underground. To become great you must seek out a great coach, an expert in that field.

Below, Anthony talks about his confidence after winning The Super 32 Wrestling Tournament, beating 5 state champs in the process!

Question for Parents: Would you be accepting of your son being trained by someone who has minimal knowledge in their field? I’ve seen parents let their kids get trained by an athletic coach with strength and conditioning. As a parent, I would want my kids to be under expert guidance, not a coach who read 1 book or a few lousy articles and now thinks he knows the best methods for strength and conditioning.

Give your child the best possible chance to succeed. Don’t settle for anything less than the best.

If you’re a supportive parent and have a child athlete who wants to achieve greatness and understands he must WORK for it, give us a call and schedule your FREE, 1 day trial while space is available
