As the owner of The Underground Strength Gym in Edison, NJ I make sure I can do EVERYTHING I expect of my athletes.

I walk the talk and Lead from the Front.

After training for 21 years, our athletes get more experience then their own age!

My Goal is to make our athletes stronger than I am, faster, more explosive, better conditioned and mentally tougher than I am or anyone else that dares tp step in their way.

This is a look inside a “Day in the Office” at The Underground Strength Gym of Edison, NJ, a place where ONLY serious athletes train.

If you’re a serious athlete and a honest, supportive parent who does NOT intrude then we invite you to apply for membership at The Underground Strength Gym.

As Always, Serious Inquiries Only Please.

You may apply by calling us or sending an e mail.

Space is limited and not all applicants are accepted.

Thank You.

NJ Athletes Need INCHES

WARNING: The Video & Article Below Will Offend Many

If YOU are Offended, Then I am Probably Talking About YOU!

Most athletes do NOTHING extra. Not even an extra inch. They get discouraged because they think they need to go the extra mile.

Before you go the extra mile, you need to go the extra inch.

Watch and Learn…..

The speech given above doesn’t just apply just to football players, but for ALL NJ ATHLETES!

Here’s what I KNOW:

- 8 kids just quit a high school wrestling team because it was too hard. Their Coach is actually my old high school wrestling coach. He was awesome…. sounds like he STILL is awesome.

- It’s a sign of the times. Most athletes don’t wanna do any extra. They want facebook, cell phones, video games and fast food. I call this the pussification of the human race.

- Many Varsity athletes can not perform these basic physical tasks:

A) 50 push ups

B) 10 pull ups

C) Jump Rope

D) 10 Bodyweight Squats with proper form

I have more “basics” to add to the above list, BUT, movements such as push ups should be a staple in every athlete’s daily ritual.

- Most athletes skip breakfast because they don’t have time. Translation: “I’m too lazy and not dedicated enough to wake up early and cook myself my own breakfast.

It’s time for athletes to start working on inches.

Youth Athlete Training in NJ

Here’s an 8th grader training at The Underground Strength Gym in Edison, NJ.

Last Spring he broke his wrist and had to get his hand and wrist reset in place. In June, Dylan could barely carry a pair of 36 lb Kettlebells.

Below, he swings an 88 lb Kettlebell and carries a pair of 88 lb Kettlebells!

Dylan’s main sport of focus is Football, BUT, he also wrestles to improve his conditioning, athleticism and mental toughness.

Young athletes should engage in a variety of sports as well as a properly organized training program, which is what we do for the many middle school athletes who train with us at The Underground Strength Gym.

Football Training at The Underground Strength Gym

In the video below you’ll see two guys hitting a 350 lb thick bar bench press.

Michael Pitts, an All American Safety from Monmouth U looking to get into the NFL, and Brian “Curls” Pascal.

Curls is a freak – but, many of you do NOT know that once upon a time, Curls was NOT  a freak.

In fact, he was slow, pudgy and showed no inkling of athletic prowess.

He would be tagged first in tag games.

But, in middle school he began cranking out calisthenics – lots of them.

In high school he buried himself in the weight room.

Junior year he began training Underground, back when we were in a garage.

Today, as a Sophomore at Johns Hopkins University, Curls is 250 lbs and is one of the strongest, most explosive and most athletic guys I have ever worked with.

Check out Curls & Pitts moving some serious weight!

The lesson here?

Nothing beats hard work and consistency. This stuff has to be done all year – training NEVER stops.

Kill it!

PS: We are currently on a waiting list to get into The Underground Strength Gym. You can still call or e mail us to leave your name and information. Because we are a private club, referrals and invites from our clients will get priority.

PPS: If you’re waiting to begin training until you get “in”, I must add:

1) Not everyone is accepted into our program

2) Waiting NEVER helps. Start training on your own.

Those who stopped by our gym in the fall and winter are now trying to get into the program and missed out. Waiting is NOT a good thing.
