Our gym is strictly for athletes and coaches ONLY.

Parents are NOT allowed to come into our training area as this has proven to be a liability and an overall negative experience for both the athlete(s) and the coaches. No exceptions are allowed.

If you’re a parent who is obnoxious, overbearing and interrupts our workouts you are not welcome here. Rude and overbearing parents make other athletes feel uncomfortable and ALWAYS ruin the workout for their son / daughter by intruding in their workouts.

We care too much about our athletes to allow a lazy athlete to ruin it for everyone around them, or a loud, overbearing, interrupting parent to make any of our athletes feel uncomfortable.

Zach, we have noticed a significant difference in Kyle's physique and strength on the playing field since he has been working out at Underground. As you know Kyle is a QB at Woodbridge and I see the added strength in his throws that need to get to a spot in a hurry. Also, it is the little things like stiff arming someone to avoid a sack and escaping an obvious sack situation with more ease.

He has also led Woodbridge so far to an undefeated season and a #19 rank in the Star Ledger. This the high schools first state rank since 1997. Hi Zach,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to say THANKS for all you’re doing for the wrestling community. <

I purchased the Underground Strength Manual last spring and then Train to Pin last fall.

As a Head Coach at the college and club level, I can say without question that it’s great stuff that prepares wrestlers

physically and mentally to do exactly what we train for, to pin. My son David and I trained like Undergrounders since last spring and it paid off.

I will share a story from the State Tournament this year. After pinning his first opponent in the quarters, he lost a hard fought match 8-6 in the semis to a 2x State Champ.

Of course we were both bummed out that he wasn’t going to realize his goal of winning a State title.

However, in the tunnel underneath he had to regain his focus, hit the reset button and immediately find a

new goal that would provide enough satisfaction for the time being.

He decided he would pin every other opponent and finish third. Sure enough-he did.

The cool thing is that every opponent he wrestled at the State Tournament found their way onto the podium.

He went 3-1 and during the state tournament pinning the eventual 4th, 5th and 6th place medalists along the way back through the consolations.

While getting third was not what we trained for, it was fun to watch him pin everybody.

In the third place match, with about 15 seconds to go he had a stud cradle locked up and was debating whether to run the guy over with it or just secure the victory.

When I saw him pause for a second, I yelled out from the corner “remember the goal”.

He crushed the guy and got the fall.

I have attached a picture for you from the State Tournament as a true testimonial and a BIG THANKS for the Train to Pin program. David is moving on to college wrestling now and chasing down a National Title.

Maybe a goal of pinning through that tournament ??? We’ll keep you posted. : )

Only highly dedicated, highly motivated athletes are accepted into the program. No exceptions. This ensures that every athlete training at our gym compliments one another and helps raise the bar for one another.

Showing up late, complaining, making excuses, etc. is unacceptable at The Underground Strength Gym.

If you are a overbearing, rude, obnoxious parent and feel the need to scream from the sidelines telling your son / daughter how to train then you have ruined your chances for your child to train here. Would you, as a parent, allow someone else to show up at your place of work and tell you and your co workers what to do and how to do it? For some odd reason too many parents feel they can tell other coaches what to do as if this is their area of expertise.

The Underground Strength Gym is for athletes ONLY. Parents are not allowed in the gym while training sessions are going on. We ask for your support by trusting what we do. If you don’t trust us then do not apply for membership.

What the Heck is The Underground Strength Gym?

There are Coaches and Trainers flying in from around the world to learn about our methods in an effort to bring superior training back to their country, their gym and / or their team.

Coaches fly in from as far away as Canada, The UK and even Australia.

Top Performing Teams such as The Rutgers Wrestling Team & Blair Academy Wrestling Team seek out our coaching services as well, they KNOW we are the best when it comes to transforming athletes into stronger, faster, more explosive athletes.

Our results speak for themselves. As mentioned previously, we GUARANTEE results and you can expect to see AND feel the difference in as little as 2 weeks.

How Does Our Membership Work?

We don’t offer sessions, we offer membership. We understand that building dominant athletes is a long term process, not a quick fix that happens in a few workouts.

Training athletes is done in 3 or 12 month membership options, ranging from 1 – 5 times each week. Most athletes continue training with us long term until they have to move away to college and return to us during their college breaks to continue their rise to the top.

We are not interested in a quick fix program so signing up for one month shows us your lack of commitment to becoming great at your chosen sport (s).

You first membership is 3 months. After you complete your first 3 months, you have the option to renew for 3 or 12 months if we feel you are a great fit for The Underground and you are invited back.

If price is your main concern then we are NOT the right program for you. You can go to the local gym or health club and your results will reflect your price. We are NOT the Wal Mart of Athletic Performance.

Your initial 3 month membership at The Underground Strength Gym is a trial period. If you prove yourself to be committed and responsible you have the option to renew for 3 months again, and, we offer discounts when 6 month or 12 month memberships are payed in full.

ALL Athletes have access to the gym 5 x week. The training of 1 – 3 x week is with a Coach, the “extra” workouts allow the athlete to come in on his own schedule and practice what we call “Champion Workouts”, which is doing the little extras on their own, with their own motivation and attacking their weak areas.

I finished the season second on my varsity team in scoring, got an all county honorable mention and made 1st team all sophomore’s team at the guard position . I credit a great deal of this to Zach, thanks to him I was physically stronger and mentally stronger then my competition and it propelled me to a very successful year.

I haven’t even tapped my true potential training with Zach and it’s amazing how he knows exactly how to keep making everyone stronger, faster, more explosive and more muscular. I can’t wait for the upcoming Basketball season!

I started training with Zach a week after I got knocked out first round of wrestling regions freshman year. After training with Zach for a year I gained much more confidence as well as strength I never thought I could develop.

That big jump in strength and confidence lead me to a 37-4 sophmore year, winning a county title as well as numerous tournaments throughout the year and a district title!

When the region tournament came around I placed 3rd and qualified for the state tournament after getting knocked out of the Regions freshman year.

Junior year, I also made it to states at the 119 weight class. After the season I continued to train with Zach and gained 30lbs of muscle in the past 5 months due to the intense training that I endure at the Underground. I know weigh close to 155 lbs!

Life Long Lessons

Our training not only develops the physical aspect but the mental as well. We’re about building character in our athletes, teaching them lessons in life which are in alignment with what happens on the competitive scene in sports. It is not uncommon to see highly successful athletes move on to other ventures in their life and conquer them with ease.

We also train military, law enforcement and adults who are hard core fitness enthusiasts.

Why do you need to do something different than your competition?

ALL athletes need to get the edge over their competition if they want to truly excel and stand apart from the crowd. Their competition is already doing everything they are doing: attending athletic camps and clubs specific to their sport, training in their high school or collegiate weight room, etc.

If you’re doing the same as everyone else how do you expect to set yourself apart from the pack?

Our methods are specifically geared towards the development of you, the athlete. The USC Gym does not randomly throw together workout programs hoping they will work.

Using tractor tires, Russian Kettlebells, barbells, sandbags and stones are only tools, nothing else. I’ve watched other Coaches and inexperienced trainers trying to use these tools with horrible technique and putting their athletes in great danger, ALL because they took the short road and copied someone from a video.

The Underground Strength System has been developed through 20 + Years of in the trenches experience. The methods used here did not come about from a weekend course or a few books like most other “coaches”. Our expertise has been crafted and molded for over 2 decades.

Why You Need an Expert

The way we organize these methods and training tools together is what separates us from the typical program and is exactly why our results quickly skyrocket the progress of any athlete who experiences our program.

Many parents and athletic coaches try to take the performance preparation into their own hands by getting Russian Kettlebells, tractor tires, kegs, etc. Having the tools does NOT qualify you as an expert.

For Example: My Father has Kettlebells at his house, this does NOT qualify him to train you or other athletes. I have a Football and Rugby ball in my house, this does NOT qualify me to Coach these sports.

Interviewing our athletes and their parents prior to acceptance ensures that we have athletes who are ready and willing to commit to their success with supportive parents who trust us and allow us to do what we do best, which is transforming athletes into the best they have ever been.

Our days of operation are Monday – Friday.

Please understand that not all applicants are accepted due to the serious nature of our training program. This ensures that every athlete in our groups is highly motivated. We simply can not afford to accept unmotivated athletes into our groups.

Government Agencies / Specialized Seminars: Military, Law Enforcement and other Special Government Units are taken into consideration for acceptance depending on the nature and time frame of the project. I was barely 90 lbs when I first began training with Zach.

About 6 or 7 months ago I started to train steadily with Zach in an effort to improve my overall athleticism. Before this time I was training like a bodybuilder and I looked strong, but I honestly did not feel it was giving me the return in exchange for all the time and effort I spent in the gym.

When Zach trained me, we started attacking the body in short periods of time, 45 minutes max. This style of training has totally changed my whole outlook on strength training! My joints no longer ache throughout the day, and I have increased my strength, speed and power big time. I have NEVER been this strong in my life!

I just graduated the police academy and the entire time I was in the academy I was training under Zach’s guidance. I sometimes would only be able to work out once a week due to my hectic schedule, but he gave me a program to follow in my garage and backyard, he called it farm boy training.

I did these workouts in my back yard. They were short but brutally effective, helping me out perform all the other recruits, ultimately winning the PT honors award, breaking some very long standing PT records at the academy!

Hope your weekend is going great! I just got back from the tournament today and it went awsome! I went 3-0 (winning the tournament) and in my first match I avenged a loss (3-2 last time I lost to him) to a kid from NY, and today I totally out muscled and out wrestled him!

The final score was 10-1! Then in the finals I totally dominated this kid winning 12-0!

Since training Underground I feel so strong when I wrestle now, I don’t even care who I wrestle, I just know the kid will have to step on the mat and go head to head with a beast!

Those kettlebell conditioning drills are helping tremendously! In the first match I still had strength and gas left in the tank in the third period! Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hopefully I’ll see you at the gym for another kick ass session!
