Check out this video of a state champ from Georgia, who is a Judoka athlete as well.
I have been telling our wrestlers since Day 1 to step away from wrestling for at least 3 months and take up JUDO.
Now you can see why, watch the video below:
Notice his shocking strength (shocking to his opponents), his ability to lift & throw opponents at ease, his amazing body kinesthesis and his confusing style.
He even hits a flying arm bar and transitions into a take down.
One of our clients, David Ellis, is a Black Belt Judoka at Cranford Judo Club.
One of the best wrestlers to ever emerge from NJ, and one of the best in the world, Steve Mocco was a JUDO faithful and also trained at Cranford JUDO Club.
Below is David Ellis in training, enjoy the video!

Kettlebells are just a tool, not the end all be all, magic bullet of athletic performance.
But, when used correctly, Kettlebells can be a very effective training tool for our NJ athletes.
They can be used to improve:
- athleticism
- strength endurance
- power endurance
- grip strength
- core strength / trunk stability
- full body strength
- mental toughness
These athletes love Kettlebells but some of them love the mirror even more, this is becoming a problem!

Underground Creed
A wrestling match has a 6 minute time limit unless Over Time comes up.
Russ Benner, a wrestler from Roselle Park, NJ pinned his way to a district title in under 4 minutes total over the course of 3 matches.
Pretty damn impressive, BUT, I am not shocked, because I have seen all the gut busting effort this BadAss has put forth for close to a year at The Underground.
Check out Russ in action below, throwing around a 130 lb sandbag.

Football and Baseball athletes train together and tear it up with some heavy Dumbbell work and fast paced bodyweight training.
The DB training is for the quick lifts and strength, so we crank Dumbbell Snatches and 1 Arm Benches, then a circuit of Bodyweight training: push and pull.
Too many athletes can bench heavy but can’t perform ONE correct push up. This is a BIG problem and if you can’t move your own body I don’t care how much you can Bench Press, it will NOT carry over onto the playing field.
