Power Training for NJ Athletes

Before we move on to what goes down inside The Underground Strength Gym, let me preface ALL of that “Stuff” so the parents and athletes watching our videos can see my friend, Ultimate Warrior, speak about what it takes to succeed. We think the same and that just might be TOO much for most of you. Too intense, expectations too high…..

If you don’t fit this mold and understand that success takes WORK, you do NOT belong here…..

We’ve got NO room for lazy athletes, rude parents or anyone who makes and / or enables excuses. Excuses are for those who cave in to the slightest pressure. At The Underground, you learn to thrive under pressure….

Athletes need specialized training, that’s a fact. But… before we get specialized, we need plenty of “generalized” work.

Why skinny 100 lb kids are being told by Coaches to do a power clean is beyond me…. “JUMP with the weight” they say, but…. the kid is too weak to JUMP, let alone perform a safe and proper power clean.

Once our athletes develop a level of general physical preparation we can begin specializing and adding speed / explosive power work to their training. But, TOO much speed work and we now move from Quality to quantity and you are NO longer building speed.

It’s dangerous when you have a little bit of knowledge and just throw it on the wall and hope it sticks. I feel bad for athletes who are forced to train under a coach who wants to make an extra buck “covering the weight room”. These kids get ONE shot to make it right, they deserve to learn from experts.

Before I continue I’d like to thank ALL the dumb ass, ego driven coaches who tell their strongest and fastest athletes to train LESS at The Underground when we helped them get to the top…. I own a Football but you don’t see me trying to start my own Football team, catch my drift?

Underground Football Training in NJ

If you want to prepare for the battle on the Gridiron then don’t expect to get the results you need by following a traditional program… Don’t expect to gain that mental edge by surrounding yourself with a slew of lazy teammates who aren’t in the weight room to attack and train to WIN…..

Here’s a quick glimpse of some of our Football players getting after it…. Many of them are here AFTER doing the required work in their high school weight room….

NOT ironically, their Football Coaches told them to STOP training at The Underground…. “It’s Too Much….” they say…. wow, them sounds like quittin’ words to me!

We do NOT accept that bull shit talk at The Underground, we train you to win, not just physically, but mentally as well.

I’m tired of Coaches talking with such negativity and I’m tired of motivated athletes being forced to train amongst quitters and lazy asses.

That does NOT happen at The Underground, period, end of story.

YES… we’re a Private Club…

YES…. we’re exclusive and not everyone is accepted here

NO…. we are NOT closed….. Closed to the public, maybe, but, if you can show us you wanna WIN and you bust your ass through your trial workout you have an opportunity that many never get.

Mom… Dad…. do NOT sign up for a trial unless little Johnny or Jenny want to become champions, plain and simple.

THIS Wednesday, December 14th we will be holding an OPEN training time for athletes ONLY.

If you want to see what we do and partake in Open QnA, go through a sample Underground Strength workout and see how we can help you reach your TRUE potential in life AND sports, this is your opportunity.

If you’re the type of parent or athlete who needs to wait for the new year to start a training program then this is NOT the program for you. We work with Go Getters and Action takers, NOT procrastinators. Procrastinators don’t WIN and they do NOT become champions.

We are limiting this open house to the first 5 parents who respond.

 Key Word: Parents…. Do NOT respond if you are under 18 and do not have the support of your parents.

You must be the parent of a middle school or high school athlete and the athlete MUST be present with his or her parent(s) to go through the workout.

NJ Strength & Conditioning

In the video above you got a chance to see Bill Rauh, a Football Player & Wrestler from Edison and Dylan Marino, a Football Player & Wrestler from JP Stevens.

Both are new to wrestling and now attending wrestling clubs to catch up on their skills.

They are learning that wrestling will make them better at Football and vice versa. Being a multi-sport athlete who is stronger and faster than the competition adds more skill to your arsenal not just physically, but mentally as well.

When Billy started training here he was about 118 lbs and couldn’t deadlift 135 lbs, in the video you see him easily deadlifting 325 lbs!! 200 lbs More than when he started!

Dylan began in 7th grade and was barely able to perform a good push up, now a freshman, he is deadlifting 315 and went from 130 something lbs to 170 lbs!

Results don’t just happen, they are EARNED.

Becoming a champion athlete requires YOU to do the work that others aren’t willing to do.

NJ Wrestling Dad Praises Underground Strength Gym

Some Parents “get it”. They understand the need for off season training. Some Coaches “get it” and understand the need for their athletes to seek out expert training. Anthony Rosamilia is one of the Dads who “gets it”. See what he says about the results his son has experience since training here 1 1/2 years ago starting at a mere 88 lbs!

“Who Cares…..?”

Ironically, I spoke with a president of a Pop Warner Football Team today. I spoke with him about offering a FREE Exploration day at The Underground or at a location of his choice and he said I was “too late, Football season ended a month ago.”

WOW, how’s that for LACK of support for off season training, and, that’s coming from the PRESIDENT of the Pop Warner League. It shows he has 2 issues:

1) He doesn’t care about REALLY helping the Pop Warner Football players

2) He doesn’t understand at all the power and importance of off season training

Athletes can train year round. There is nothing wrong with being physically active year round.

I spoke to another President right after from a close by town, and, he was super excited, told me he would connect with the parents ASAP and we would set up something for the parents of the 8th grade Football players to help them prepare for high school Football.

This parent understands the importance of off season training AND he is showing that he CARES.

Anthony Rosamilia CARES.

Not all parents or coaches care. It’s a shame to see these negative circumstances and unfortunately they exist, even coming from The President of a Pop Warner Football League :(

I feel bad for those kids to have such a S***ty League President. I suggest they vote someone else in :)
